Who We Are

	Patrick Murphy – Unit Manager Patrick has been producing video and multimedia programs for 30 years and his work has been recognized for excellence by several professional and media associations. Patrick has been manager of the group since 1996. He has also taught video and multimedia production at the University of Michigan. Patrick’s outside interests have included writing film reviews for a local magazine, serving as chair of the city’s Cable Commission, and conducting peer reviews on grants for the National Institutes of Health.
	Scott Mann – Senior Producer/Director Scott has over 20 years experience producing both video and multimedia projects, including award-winning programs for many U-M departments, as well as local and national private sector clients. From riding in the Survival Flight helicopter to videotaping deep inside a Navy battleship or a cardiac patient's chest, Scott sees variety as the spice of his professional life. In his off time he is the parent of two college-aged daughters, likes to cook up a storm (or ski in one), and plays guitar & woodwinds in a local folk/rock ensemble.
	Jason Simpson – Senior Producer/Director Jason's talents include videography, video editing, graphics, music,sound design, and program production. Editing and Sound design are areas of particular interest, and he has composed original music for several productions. Jason has been with the group since 2001. Prior to that he worked with Digital Animation and GTN in Detroit producing media for the auto industry, and Pinnacle Productions in Perrysberg, Ohio producing Video and interactive media for national clients.
	Jennifer Howard – Marketing Coordinator/Program Producer Jennifer’s diverse experience includes marketing, development, coordination and production of video and audio projects, as well as acting and voiceovers. She is new to Michigan Productions, having previously worked as director of major & foundation giving at Michigan Radio and Michigan Television, and prior to that as an associate producer of television documentaries for Jonathan Diamond Associates in New York City. In her free time, Jennifer is a scriptwriter, independent feature producer, and mother of a toddler.
	Randy Wills – Production Assistant Randy is a senior in Sport Management at the University of Michigan. He is pursing a career in the athletics industry, possibly with multimedia production or broadcasting of events. Being a former actor, he now enjoys learning about the production of video and multimedia projects. Randy has worked at Michigan Productions for a two years. He started teaching himself programs of video and photo editing while in high school, and programs of web design in elementary school and has enjoyed it ever since. With these skills, he developed the Michigan Productions website.
